Day 1: Arrival and River Safari

Your Liwonde safari adventure begins with your arrival at Liwonde National Park, easily accessible from Malawi’s main cities. As you enter the park, the change in scenery is immediate – the bustling streets give way to lush landscapes and the air fills with the sounds of nature. On arrival at your chosen lodge or campsite, you’ll be greeted with warm Malawian hospitality and a brief orientation to prepare you for the days ahead.
Afternoon – River Safari on the Shire River
After settling in, the first excursion of your Liwonde safari is a river cruise on the Shire River. This gentle journey offers a unique vantage point to view wildlife. Elephants are often seen quenching their thirst at the water’s edge, while hippos yawn lazily in the water. Crocodiles sunbathe on the banks, and a myriad of bird species, including the African fish eagle and the colorful malachite kingfisher, can be spotted. Day 2: Game Drives and Walking Safari

After spending 3 hours of the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for a breakfast and after breakfast depart back to Lilongwe or Blantyre. Along the way you will stop in one of the stop for snacks or lunch.
