Home to an impressive variety of wildlife, Majete is particularly acclaimed for its role in supporting the “Big Five”: elephants, lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, and Cape buffaloes. The park’s conservation programs have led to a population resurgence and the reintroduction of species that had previously vanished from the area. Additionally, the biodiversity within Majete encompasses unique flora and fauna, including endemic plant species and the diversity of habitats that range from savannahs to lush riverine woodlands. Birdwatchers are especially attracted to the reserve, as its varied ecosystems are home to over 300 different species, making it a bird-watching paradise for both experts and novices.
